Detailed Descriptions
1. Top Frame is fully slotted at its four edges to allow for proper ventilation preventing internal equipment from overheating.
2. Top Cover comes with cable entry access allowing cables to enter the equipment inside the rack easily and neatly.
3. Extruded vertical main frame provides the rack with good structural support and is neat and pleasing to the eye.
4. Mounting Elements conform to various international standards so that all types of data and voice equipment can be easily mounted.
5. Bracing Elements on either sides of the rack provide added structural support to the rack allowing heavy equipment to be mounted.
6. Heavy Duty Castor Wheel support varies heavy equipments on rack and allow rack to be shippable.

7. Base Frame allows for cable entry access and provides good stability support to the overall structure.


3) How do I calculate how many Rack Units I need?

Many data center managers calculate rack enclosure height needed by determining the optimal rack unit usage. For example, if users are aware that future plans call for the addition of 20 2U sized servers, they could count on needing a 44U rack enclosure. This will allow enough internal height for approximately 20 servers, room for a 1U patch panel and a 2U UPS back-up battery. Rear or side vertically mounted power management devices will also have sufficient room to perform their functions.

We at D-Nexus would like to advise you, the Buyer, to be wary of certain Server Cabinets manufactured outside Singapore, especially those originating from countries such as China. Due to their failure to meet the minimum quality standards, many of our clients who previously purchased these have suffered downtime and/or financial losses due to the breakdown of these Server Cabinets.

Our engineers here in Singapore do take the time and effort in designing not only strong, long lasting Server Cabinets by using high quality materials that surpass any standard of quality control but to also have good aesthetics appeal.

Be rest assured, at D-Nexus, ALL server cabinets are checked, tested individually and then fully assembled to make sure everything fits in place before ever reaching our clients.

Our VBOZ® Server Racks are subjected to numerous quality control checks during and after productions to ensure our products' quality and safety standards.

We wish to highlight to you, the numerous negative feedbacks we have received from our clients on the complications and dangers with racks not made in Singapore.

1. Many a times the Server racks not made in Singapore fail to meet minimum industry standards.

2. Due to their failure to meet the minimum quality standards, many of our clients who previously purchased the Server racks not made in Singapore have suffered downtime and/or financial losses due to the breakdown of these Server Cabinets.

3. Server Racks not made in Singapore tend to be poorly designed and manufactured. These racks normally have inferior materials to cut down on shipping costs from abroad. These results in a poor and a weak structure. When loaded with Servers and UPS, these racks have been known to bend/tilt.

4. When this happens you may have problems closing the doors. The rack stability is also comprised. This not only damages its appearance but also incurs a Safety Hazard as the Racks may collapse if the servers are not removed.

5. Service support is another important factor when it comes to Server Racks. Server Rack made outside Singapore tend to have a longer support lead-time or no warranty as manufacturing sites are located overseas. Our VBOZ® Racks are manufactured in Singapore. It comes with a Five (5) Years Limted Warranty.

6. Our VBOZ® engineers in Singapore do take the time and effort in designing not only strong, but also long lasting Server Cabinets. We use high quality materials that surpass many standards of quality control but to also have good aesthetics appeal.

9) What if we have unique color requirements?

Color Matching: We can color match almost any color you would require. If color matching is required, please specify your desired color in the note field when ordering. As a paint chip sample will be required to color match, one of our sales engineers will contact you to work out the details. Please note: there is a one-time set up fee for color matching - all subsequent orders will not be charged this fee. Please allow an additional 5 days of production for color matching.


10) What is a Rack Unit? What does 40U mean? 44U? 48U? etc.

A "Rack Unit" or Rack "U" is an EIA standard allowance unit for measuring rack mount equipment. One "Rack Unit" is equal to 44.45mm" in height. To calculate internal useable space of a rack enclosure, simply multiply the total amount of Rack Units by 44.45mm. For example, a 42U rack enclosure would have 1866.9mm of internal usable space (42 x 44.45).


11) What is the actual height of 1U ?

Your server(s) will be mounted in the rack. A rack is a metal framework that houses electronic equipment and usually contains bays designed to piece of equipment like a server.

The space used by your server(s) is measured in Rack Units (RU or "U-Space"). This is the unit of measurement used for defining the vertical space used. A 'U' is equivalent to 1.75 inches (4.45cm).

1U Server= 1.75" of Vertical Rack Space
2U = 3.5" of Vertical Rack Space
4U = 7.00" of Vertical Rack Space

A full rack can contains 40 to 42U 1/4 Rack=10U (10 servers of 1U) Half rack =20 U (20 Servers of 1U)

So, if you have to buy your own server you have to choose a rackmount server (or rack mounted server) it has been designed to live on a rack.


12) What is the purpose of a Relay Rack?

A Relay Rack is a 2-post aluminum or steel structure with either EIA standard (round) mounting holes or universal (square) mounting holes. Relay Racks are also known as 2-Post Racks or Open Bay Racks. The vertical holes spacing on Relay Racks are standardized for mounting Telco, or computer / network equipment. Relay Racks can also mount cantilever shelving for other non-rack mountable equipment.

The Open Bay rack design also provides maximum air flow for the entire rack due to the open frame construction.


13) What size Rack Cabinet Enclosure do I need?

Selecting the correct server cabinet size depends on 2 major factors: the type of equipment needed for rack mount capabilities and the amount of equipment requiring server rack enclosure space.

The key to having a good server rack buying experience is planning. Ideally, users should tally the total amount of rack units currently needed and also keep in mind future expansion because cabinet rack units can not be added on once a server rack is fabricated.

If additional rack mount accessories such as environmental monitoring, battery back-up, and/or remote power management are required, extra front and rear cabinet space might be needed in order to sufficiently mount rack accessories vertically and horizontally.


14) Will the Rack Cabinet Enclosure fit through all doors on the way

All of our server rack enclosures ship fully assembled. There are some removable components, such as door as side panels, but that will not change external dimensions of the rack frame which cannot be taken apart. Please consider all product dimensions carefully to ensure server racks meet all clearance regulations
